From the bustling markets of Kuala Lumpur to the serene temples of Penang, and from Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay to its hidden heritage districts, each frame reveals a new layer of Southeast Asia’s soul. Whether you’re chasing golden-hour light, exploring vibrant street scenes, or documenting architectural marvels, this tour is designed to inspire your creativity and elevate your craft.

Arrival in Kuala Lumpur (KUL) & Welcome Dinner
We will meet in the hotel lobby at 5:30 PM for our first group gathering. This will outline the plan for the photo tour, including shooting locations, timing, and what to expect the following day. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions and get to know the other photographers.

After an early breakfast, we photograph the Putra Mosque, a masterpiece in pink of symmetry, elegance, color, and design. Outside views are magnificent, and the interior is also amazing.
After lunch we continue to Chinatown, a vibrant area in Kuala Lumpur, where you can experience Chinese-Malaysian culture. The colorful shops, temples, and markets selling everything under the sun is a fun experience.
Our twilight photography this evening will be in Independence Square in which the old colonial buildings are simply dazzling in the way they are illuminated. Overnight Kuala Lumpur in a 5-star hotel.

Kuala Lumpur: a huge cave and a temple
We have an early start this morning to visit the Batu Cave. This is an astonishing complex of ancient limestone caves. At the foot of the stairs stands an outstanding 140-foot golden sculpture of the Hindu god, Lord Murugan. Inside the multi-colored illuminated caves are myriad statues of Hindu dieties. It is a sight to behold!
We then return to the hotel for a late breakfast. Afterwards, we visit one of the most beautiful Chinese temples in Asia. The Thean Hou Temple is a six-tiered structure with intricate detail and unmatched artistry. You will find award-winning compositions everywhere.
At twilight, we will photograph the incredible Petronas Towers from our perfectly situated 5-star hotel.

Kuala Lumpur: Iconic Cityscapes & Architecture
This early morning, photograph sunrise at KLCC Park, capturing golden light on the Petronas Twin Towers. The reflective lake and soft morning light make this one of KL’s most striking cityscapes. We return to the hotel for breakfast, and since we got up early for photography, we have leisure time until lunch. Relax at the hotel, review your morning shots, or explore nearby cafés. This break avoids harsh midday lighting and keeps the day comfortable.
After lunch, we visit the Petronas Skybridge and Observation Deck for elevated views of Kuala Lumpur. Photograph sweeping skyline perspectives, architectural symmetry, and the city’s dynamic urban layout.
At twilight we will shoot the beautiful Saloma Bridge. The illuminated woven structure and the backdrop of KL’s skyline create stunning long‑exposure opportunities.

Depart & Arrival. Today we fly from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. Upon arrival, Indiana will take you to the incredible waterfall inside the airport. It's called Rain Vortex waterfall, and we'll shoot from Level 4 for symmetrical perfection. Water miraculously emanates from the high glass ceiling, and the surrounding environment looks like a tropical rainforest – all inside the terminal! We then transfer to our hotel. Singapore: Wild and crazy architecture
We get up early this morning to visit the famous Merlion statue to photograph beautiful golden sunlight on it. We return to the hotel for breakfast, and then we take a taxi to Little India and Kampung Glam, Haji lane. . Both areas are, essentially, ‘wild and crazy’ when it comes to architecture, color, and creativity. There’s a lot to photograph.
We have lunch, and in the afternoon and evening photograph the remarkable Marina Bay Sands Hotel from various vantage points. Overnight Singapore in a 4+star hotel.

The Garden by the Bay
The Garden by the Bay is Singapore’s showcase for tropical plants and flowers. Under the Cloud Forest Dome, an architectural wonder, is housed scores of gorgeous orchids, bromeliads, and many other flowers that beg to be photographed. The many acres surrounding the main botanical garden are filled with what looks like alien seed pods covered in fantasy vegetation. It is breathtaking.
After lunch we have some leisure time and then at twilight, with artful illumination, it's sensational. In addition, the nearby Helix Bridge, is otherworldly. You’ve never seen anything like it! Overnight Singapore in a 4+ star hotel.

Singapore: Lots of color
After breakfast we visit neighborhoods known for their iconic colorful houses and window designs, particularly the Katong Joo Chiat shophouses along Koon Seng Road. These stylized pastel-hued homes date back to the 1920’s and offer great photo opportunities. We stop at the famous Kim Choo Kueh Chang for gourmet snacks before having lunch in Chinatown.
In the afternoon, we go to the Park Hotel for dramatic interior shots of a stunning hotel. Our farewell dinner is a cruise on a tall ship, and besides the delicious food, the views of Singapore from the ship are breathtaking. this even affords us dramatic city views from the ship! Overnight in a 4+ star hotel.
