Through Her Lens: Women's Photography Tour. (iPhones are welcome)

Join us for an unforgettable journey from the Adriatic to the Alps, designed especially for women with a love of photography and a curiosity for the world. Over eight nights we travel through three of Europe's most captivating countries, beginning in the fjord-like Bay of Kotor, winding through the walled streets of Dubrovnik and the turquoise waterfalls of Plitvice, and ending among the alpine lakes and charming capital of Slovenia.
This tour is created for beginners and those who simply want to enjoy photography at a gentle pace. There are no long hikes and no rush — only beautiful locations, plenty of time to work each scene, and patient guidance to help you grow in your ability to see photographically.. From sunrise over still bays to the blue hour in medieval old towns, we will always be in the right place at the best light.
Beyond the camera, this is a celebration of place and of the women who shape it. We taste wines with local winemakers, meet weavers, lacemakers and artisans, and leave time for shopping in local markets and boutiques. Travelling at this quiet time of year, we often have these famous places almost to ourselves — soft, low light, calm waters, empty old-town squares, and a relaxed pace that lets us slow down, connect, and create. Come with us to make beautiful images and share in the warm hospitality of the Balkans and the Alps.

Arrival in Podgorica (airport coder TGD), Bay of Kotor. You will be met by a local representative and transferred to the Bay of Kotor, one of the most photogenic corners of the Adriatic, where calm water meets mountains rising straight from the sea. After settling in, we take an easy first walk along the waterfront with our cameras, finding colorful reflections, boats and the changing coastal light. As the sun sets we capture the warm glow over the bay and stay through blue hour, when the old town lights begin to shimmer. We gather for a welcome dinner to talk through the days ahead. Overnight stay in Kotor

Perast & Lake Skadar Wine Country. We rise for soft dawn light in Perast, with the two iconic islets — Our Lady of the Rocks and St. George — floating in still water. After breakfast there is an optional return to Kotor's medieval old town for those who would like more time among its stone lanes and small details. In the afternoon we drive inland to the Lake Skadar wine region, where a family winery welcomes us for a tasting of indigenous Montenegrin wines such as Vranac, paired with local cheeses and cured meats — a relaxed afternoon of warm hospitality in the quiet cellar. Overnight stay in Kotor

Bay of Kotor → Dubrovnik, Croatia. After a final morning by the bay, we cross the border into Croatia and drive up the coast to Dubrovnik, the "Pearl of the Adriatic." We arrive with time to settle in before heading out for an evening shoot — the famous city walls and terracotta rooftops catching the last light, then there is blue hour over the old harbor. The pace is easy; this first evening is about soaking in the atmosphere and finding a few favourite vantage points. Overnight stay in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik. We dedicate the full day to Dubrovnik. In the morning we walk a section of the ancient walls for elevated views across the rooftops and out to sea, working on composition while the light is kind. Later we wander the polished limestone streets and quiet side lanes, with time to meet local makers, browse traditional crafts, and leave generous room for shopping. As evening falls we find a high viewpoint or harborside spot to photograph the city glowing against the darkening sea. Overnight stay in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik → Pelješac → Plitvice Lakes. We travel north along the coast, pausing on the Pelješac Peninsula, one of Croatia's finest wine regions, for a tasting of bold reds such as Plavac Mali at a welcoming local cellar. Continuing inland, we reach the Plitvice Lakes in the afternoon and head straight into the park for an evening shoot, capturing the first of its terraced lakes and cascades in soft, low light. Overnight stay in Plitvice Lakes

Plitvice Lakes → Lake Bled, Slovenia. We begin early with a sunrise walk in Plitvice, when the boardwalks are almost empty and mist often hangs over the water — perfect for long exposures and quiet reflections. This UNESCO wonderland of sixteen lakes linked by waterfalls is gentle to photograph, with level paths, endless compositions, and an atmosphere we will have to ourselves. After breakfast and a final loop, we drive north into Slovenia, arriving at Lake Bled in time for a relaxed sunset shoot on the lakeshore, with the island church and clifftop castle in view. Overnight stay in Lake Bled

Lake Bled, Bohinj & the Julian Alps. We start with a sunrise shoot at Lake Bled as first light touches the island church — one of the most beloved views in Europe and wonderfully forgiving for beginners. Later we drive to wilder, quieter Lake Bohinj to work on reflections and calm-water compositions, and visit a traditional alpine farm to photograph rural life and the landmark Slovenian hayracks. In the late afternoon we make an easy stop at the hilltop church of Jamnik, reached by a short stroll, for one of Slovenia's most famous sunset panoramas, with layers of ridgelines fading into the distance. Overnight stay in Lake Bled

Day Trip to Ljubljana. After a relaxed morning we make the short and scenic drive to Ljubljana, Slovenia's green and welcoming capital. We wander the cobbled streets of Old Town — the Triple Bridge, Baroque façades, and the castle watching over the rooftops — and take in the central market, full of local color and detail. There is generous time for shopping among Ljubljana's boutiques and design studios — lace, ceramics, honey products and Slovenian textiles. We round off the visit with a tasting of wines from across Slovenia's regions before returning to Lake Bled for our final night and a celebratory farewell dinner. Overnight stay in Lake Bled

Departure from Lake Bled. If your flight schedule allows, we enjoy one last morning by the lake before breakfast. We then transfer you to the Ljubljana airport (airport code (LJU) for your journey home — the end of our photographic journey from the Adriatic to the Alps.
